Some of Africa's most significant artists have never sought the spotlight. They kept working, with rigour, with vision, with uncommon depth.

Oni Onochie is one of them.

For decades, this contemporary African master has constructed a body of work that, once encountered, cannot be unseen. Sculptures, paintings, and mixed-media compositions that move through identity, memory, spirituality, and the full complexity of what it means to be African in a world long accustomed to looking elsewhere. He works with elemental materials, fibre, metal, texture, form, and transforms them into something that feels simultaneously ancestral and urgently, unmistakably alive.

Now, through a landmark collaboration between World E11even Africa and Africans Art, his work receives the global platform it has always deserved.

Hidden in Plain Sight is that platform.

About

This is not a discovery. Oni Onochie has always existed. His work has always mattered.

This is an introduction to collectors, institutions, diplomats, and audiences who are finally ready to pay attention.

It is also a wider declaration: that African creative excellence does not require external validation to be real. But it does deserve to be witnessed, celebrated, and placed — without hesitation, without qualification — at the centre of the global cultural conversation.

At a moment when culture is increasingly recognised as one of the most consequential forces in diplomacy, economics, and national identity, African art is not catching up.

It is stepping forward — on its own terms, in its own time.

Exhibition Structure

This is not a single event, but a three-month curated cultural program, featuring:

- Opening Collectors’ Night

- Private viewings and collector appointments

- Curated gatherings and cultural dialogues

- Artist-led conversations and engagements

The exhibition is designed as a destination for collectors, institutions, diplomats, and cultural leaders.

World E11even Africa
